Thrombosis is the most common underlying pathology of heart attack, ischemic stroke, and venous thromboembolism, the top three cardiovascular killers. However, there are no therapeutic agents currently without causing deadly side effects.
After a rigorous R/D, we successfully identified novel proteases, specifically lysing pathological thrombi without bleeding risk in mice tail bleeding assay, unlike current therapeutics in comparison.
